Course description

The Certificate IV in Bookkeeping FNS40211 is a nationally recognised qualification that's ideal for aspiring and practising bookkeepers and BAS (Business Activity Statement) agents.

This course will train you to set up and maintain computerised accounting systems, prepare financial statements and carry out payroll procedures. It also includes competencies stipulated by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) for registered BAS (Business Activity Statement) agents and TASA content.

Available as an online course or through distance learning, it offers that flexible study at home option. Upon successful completion, you will also have the advantage of a qualification that is recognised by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers. You have 12 months for completion, if required.

By completing the full course, your qualification could lead to a new career or you can use it towards further studies. Our experienced trainers (Accountants) are available if you need guidance as you progress through your course. After completing this Certificate IV course you can then go on to the Cert IV in Accounting and even the Diploma of Accounting.

If you already have some experience in bookkeeping you may decide to jump straight into the Cert IV in Accounting.

The Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) will recognise the Certificate IV in Bookkeeping FNS40211 as having met the educational requirements to register as a BAS (Business Activity Statement) agent. This course meets the TPB's current educational requirements for registered BAS agents, as well as the new requirements effective from 1 March 2012. Additional eligibility criteria apply.
